The way I edited these pictures was by cropping the edges to make them look firmer and more like a viewpoint.

Michael Wolff
Michael Wolff is a German photographer who specialises in urban art. His photographs show patterns and repetition in the landscape and on human beings. In some of his pictures he has captured humans interacting with buildings. The technique I like the most is the way he crops each picture because every picture seems to be framed perfectly. |

Moholy Nagy
Moholy-Nagy uses a tequnique called looking up the way he does this is by going up close to a building making sure he is getting defined edges and simple shapes. Then he would look up and the take the shot.

Focus: The whole subject is in focus. Although there is a bit of softening in the middle
Light: A triangular slash of bright sunlight appears in the middle of the image. There are shadows at the bottom and across in a diagonal line Line & Shape: There are some straight lines coming diagonally across the image contrasting with a curved diagonal. Repetition: The diagonal lines of light repeat across the top section. Space: The photograph is shallow with no background showing Texture: All of the objects are smooth with jagged lines of light. Value/Tone: There are a range of tones from dark to light. The darkest part is at the top and the lightest in the middle. |
keld helmer Peterson
The silhouettes that are created by these highly contrasted photographs show the stark industrial nature of the urban environment. Peterson focused on the composition with lines and shapes overlapping to make the bold photographs.
I am inspired by the way he uses black and white to make the pictures look different. |

edits
The reason this picture is one of my favourites is because of the structural piece which Peterson would use in his pictures.
I chose this picture because of all of the structures in this image.
I chose this picture because of the structure and the mirror

I have edited the picture so it would turn black and white which is what Peterson does in all of his pictures and I cropped the right billboard off of the picture.
To edit this picture I have increased the contrast and I have used the exposure and offset to darken the black and whiten the white.

pattern, shape and repatition photoshoot 3
- In these photographs I looked at a city streets, looking at pattern, shape and repetition.
selected photos from the photo shoot
The links I can see are from Michael wolfs style when he takes pictures of the front view of buildings.
By selecting these photographs I am starting to see the links between them and will use this as my inspiration to develop a final piece. I am interested in combining the structures and bold lines in the buildings. To do this I have chosen these 2 images.
