Lisa Milroy
Lisa Milroy is a photographer who uses bland white backgrounds. I like these because of the placement of the objects she uses.
Lisa Milroy has influenced me because of the way she places the objects in a repetitive style.

Jan Groover
Jan Groover is a photographer who uses cutlery in her pictures. I like her pictures because of the lighting and reflection of the cutlery which makes it blend in with the usual black background.

I edited these by changing the hue/saturation and the brightness. To make the long shadows stand out.

refining my photos
The reason I like this on is because of the long shadows that are also found in Albert Renger Patchz pictures.

This part was edited by increasing the contrast to get the shadow to stand out more.
|
This part was edited by decreasing the saturation to remove all of the grey this is also in the style of Lisa Milroy because of the way its laid out.

The reason I like this picture is because of how the cups are layed out to form long shadows and still being in the style of Lisa Milroy.

refining my photos
The reason I chose this picture is because of the lay out and the positioning of the items. the reason that is, is because it is in the style of Lisa Milroy and Jan Groover.
|
The way I edited this was by increasing the contrast to make the really dark shadow go.
|
The way I edited this was by decreasing the saturation so it could be in the style of all three of the photographers.
|
The reason I chose this picture is because of the messy positioning of the items like Jan Groover.
|
The way I edited this was by decreasing the contrast very slightly.
|
The way I edited this was by decreasing the saturation by 50 so some of the red on the reflection would stay so now this is in the style of Albert Renger Patchz.

The reason I chose this was because of the scattered cutlery which isn't ordered also because of the way it shows two different photographers styles.

Firstly I decreased the saturation and contrast the reason I done this was to make the greys go and make the picture black and white.

Then I used the exposure to make the shadows stand out and blend in with the white background.
After that I used the exposure to make the spoons go very black to make it in the style of Albert Renger Patchz.

This was edited by increasing the width of the canvas size. Then rotating a duplicated image 180 degrees. I like this because it looks like it is on a real mirror line.

resolving my ideas
These all connect because they are all in the style of Jan Groover.
adding a reflected image
Final pieces
The reason I chose this is because of how the white seems as if it is real this also looks like it is 1 picture but in reality it the same picture but having a layer duplicated to make a mirror image. This is a series because it is the same picture
I edited these by changing the hue and saturation this makes a different colour I like how the colour has blended in to the background.
Evaluation
I have studied three artists who all use different styles in there work. Firstly there is Lisa Milroy she uses organised objects and a white background everything is always layed out in straight lines. I found out about her when I was first researching about repartition in photography she was the first one that caught my eye. I have learned that putting objects in straight lines can make objects blend in with the background. Secondly I have researched Jan Groover she uses cutlery in her pictures. Also she uses a more messy background and likes to take pictures of her objects close up. I discovered her when I went on Google to search for repartition in photography again the reason I like her pictures is because of the reflections she uses and the objects she uses. I have learned to use reflections in colourers with a light because it can cause different colourers to appear in the cutlery. The final photographer was Albert Renger Patchz he uses Photoshop to make his pictures black and white. I like his pictures because of the long shadows he has in his pictures. I found out about also with a search on the internet the reason his pictures caught my eye are because of the way he uses Photoshop. I have learnt how to use Photoshop a lot better from his pictures.
